Axminster have made a great start to the new season on the pitch at both 1st and 2nd XI levels and they are also in a very healthy state off the pitch.

That’s thanks in the main to some sterling work by Andrew Moulding who has managed to get match ball sponsors for all the Francis Clark Devon League matches and even some of the midweek and colts matches!

Another new feature this season is the splendid club website which is looked after by Bradley Cross and can be viewed at http://axminstertowncricketclub.co.uk

The club’s 1st XI skipper Tristan Wakeley said: “We are trying very hard to embrace the local business community as what we want to get everyone involved in what we sincerely hope will be a season to remember. Even if we don’t have one of those great campaigns, the bottom line is we need to begin the rebuilding of a special cricket club and look to eventually get the 1st XI back up amongst the leading lights in Devon cricket. With a lot of honest hard work and everyone coming together, we will get there.”
