In the County Leagues the men came back well after a heavy defeat in the Over-60s against Torbay to win the two home legs against Kingsley in the Inter Club - the away legs being postponed due to members of our team being marooned in the floods! Axminster's winning rinks were David Harris, Derek Eldridge, Charlie Barber, and Barry Rattenbury (19-15) and Smiler Jenkin, John Packham, Roy Carnan and Eric Skeemer (24-22). The ladies lost a tight game against Exonia (71-91) in their Foxlands match with Clare Barber, Kate Knott, Jean Kesterton, and Chris Barber the most successful rink (22-19).In the friendly games we were defeated at Isca (44-69) and at home to Donyatt (45-60) in very enjoyable games but, unfortunately, with no winners!Axminster did, however, win a thrilling home men's friendly against Westlands (triples) by 43 to 42 shots with David Harris, Smiler Jenkin and Brian Clark (13-11) the winning rink!May I take this opportunity to wish everyone connected with Cloakham Lawn a very Happy Christmas and a successful New Year.
