Axminster’s Sophie Keech, has won the English School’s title for the second time in three years.

Sophie became the first Millfield pupil, boy or girl, to win the National Schools title two years ago and last year she was edge d out on count back.

She played 36 holes at Notts golf club and recorded a gross score of 144, six under par, which gave her a winning margin of five clear shots!

Her morning round of 70 (five under) equalled the ladies course record and was the best score returned all day.

Sophie now goes on to represent England U18 Schools in international matches against Wales and Scotland during August and September this year.
