Axminster Town launch a new campaign of South West Peninsula League Eastern Division football tonight (Friday).
The Tigers entertain Sidmouth Town in a mouth-watering opening fixture. Making the East Devon derby all the more intriguing is that both team dug outs will have in them managers who have bossed the opposition in recent times!
Axminster Town are now managed by joint bosses with last season’s manager, Johnny Hurford, sharing the duties with Josh Stunell, who was in charge of Sidmouth Town for many seasons until he resigned at the end of last season before making the switch to Tiger Way and the new Sidmouth Town boss is Richard Pears, who had a short spell as manager at Tiger Way and more recently has had spells in charge at Southern League Barnstaple Town and before that, at another East Devon side, Exmouth Town.
Kick-off at Tiger Way is at 7.30pm.
