Axminster Town got their South West Peninsula League eastern Division season off to a winning start on Friday night.
The Tigers had the honour of staging the first game of the season in the division and a good crowd were at Tiger Way to see Town beat Galmpton and Roselands 2-1.
Gary Spiller put the Tigers a goal to the good and the lead was doubled with a second half penalty thumped home by Sam Dibling.
The South Devon side pulled one back before the end, but Johnny Hurford’s men were not to be denied a winning start to the season.
In a solid all-round performance the pick of the Town side was Nathan Warran.
