The Axe Cliff Ladies took on the annual Helen Gaudie Bowl with the strong pairing of Stella Thompson and Jill Wellington victorious with a solid 36 points.
The Seniors enjoyed ideal golfing weather in the Monthly Stableford. John Purdy, with a hot putter, won Div 1 with 40 points, followed by Nigel Tarr and Alan Morgan. Chris Alexander triumphed in Div 2 ahead of Captain David Lacey and Mark Wisby.
The Men’s section finished their Scratch & Handicap Cup with Paul Hankin becoming champion with a nett 69 and Tom Spencer was second with 73 on countback from Alan Kenworthy.
Once again, we saw some wonderful wildlife on the course with a pair of Kestrels just off the 15th, a pheasant on the 17th and my favourite a two-inch Shrew scampering toward my car and thankfully away to safety.
Geoff Hughes, meanwhile, had some fun in a bush, as can be seen in our picture.
