The second Bill Morgan memorial match was held on one of the hottest days of the year, bringing a large crowd out to support the two Chard teams.
The first made up of Bills peers and other players, invited by manager for the day, Benn Mainwaring, and the second, an invited XV organised by Wayne Lewis.
The game started as expected with Bills XV crossing the line within minutes for an unconverted try soon followed by a second, but the opposition had their reward when Ross Colenso crossed for his first of three tries for the day.
Despite the scorching heat the tempo of the game remained high (for most) and tries were scored by both teams and at the final whistle Bills XV had done just enough to retain the Shield for the second year.
The final score was probably 50-23, but who knows it may have been closer?
