With early evenings bringing us

back to the cold reality of winter it would follow that the first Turkey Trot of the year should herald the start of that special time of bonhomie where goodwill is shown to all men.

And so it was with this traditional curtain raiser to the season being held on Sunday. A full starting sheet assured it would be an exciting affair with lots of endeavour and, as the winning post loomed, a little less goodwill.

Division 1 was closely contended with two points separating the first three places, Adam White eventually

took first place with 38 points, J Ebdon second with 37 and G Williams third, with 36.

Division 2 went to a runaway winner shooting five better than his handicap.

James Lambert destroyed

the field with a magnificent 41 points. Chasing him in second was S Priest on 37 with R Coombe's 34

giving him third. For the rest there were consolation mince pies and the hope that Santa would be kinder to them.

●Kai-To Li won the Junior Stableford with 37 points, George Yorke and N Mason both carded 32 to come

second and third, respectively. Yorke's birdie on the 18th helped to secure second place on countback.
