Providing you and your partner can hit the ball straight the American Foursomes Format is a pleasure to play, writes Andy Wagner.

You each drive, then play each others ball for the second shot before deciding which ball you will then have in play. Hopefully - you only need to putt!

Over 40 members played. The winners with 41 points was the pairing of Penny Blackburn and Terry Dimond.

Second place went to the dup of Christine Whitley and Peter Dart with 40 points on count back with Jean Smith and Jason Gosling edged into third spot.

In fourth were Linda McLaughlin and John Northover with 39 points and fifth spot, again after count back, went to Andrea Squire and Alan Booth with 38 points.
