In the Seniors' Section the second inter-club match of the season took place, again at home, with the opponents Windwhistle, writes Janet Dack.

The result was not determined till the last group came in and, in the end, the honours were shared in a 3-3 draw. Winners for Axe Cliff were Hugh Willis/Terry Jessup; Geoff Hubbard/John Mant; Bob Graham/Jack Bannister.

●The men competed for the Easter Bowl with all players playing off a maximum of 18. The winner, bringing his handicap down for the second week running, was Theo Boalch (11) with a nett 66. Second place went to Matt Donnan with a nett 68 and, in third place Paul Clode (7), with a nett 69. Matt also won the National County Golf Challenge which was played in conjunction with the Easter Bowl and will play at Honiton in the next round.

●In seasonable weather the Ladies competed for the Foursomes Cup this Wednesday.

The winners, with a very respectable nett 72, were Helen Kenworthy (22) and Pauline Willis (30).
