Over the past ten days the Seniors have drawn three inter-club matches, one away and two at Axe Cliff, writes Janet Dack.

Firstly, at home against Hele Park where the odds were in favour of the visitors until the final match was won by the home side. Winning pairings for Axe Cliff included Peter Knighting/Stuart Mackie : Mick Tomes/Bob Flay and John Ashbolt/Malcolm Reynolds.

Next was Windwhistle away, where wins came from Axe Cliff came from Rob Heard/Morrison Brown and Mick Tomes/Bob Flay while half points were won by Rob Grove/Bryan Dale and Peter Knighting/Tony Strong.

Finally, the match at home against Bridport and the resulting draw gave Bridport the edge over the season by six and a half to five and a half. Wins for Axe Cliff came from Peter Knighting/Jack Bannister : Peter Motson /Mike Jamieson and Rob Grove/Martin Wallbank/

●A dull damp Wednesday found the ladies of Axe Cliff competing for the Scratch and Handicap Cups. The winner of the Scratch Cup went to Glenda Board (18) with a gross 87 resulting in a nett score of 69. four strokes under the course par of 73. Liz Wheeldon (25) win the Handicap Cup with a gross 97, nett 72.

●Last Sunday the Main Club competed for the Centenary Cup. The winner was Andrew Hellier (8) with nett 62 beating Chris Glover (12) who had a nett 64.
