Bradshaw delight in Honiton Autum Closed meeting

Despite a very showery start the sun soon came out and conditions improved for the playing of ‘The Autumn Closed’, the prestigious end of season competition for the Honiton ladies’ section, writes Andy Wagner.

No player can win more than one prize which makes for really strong competition.

The best gross winner, with a score of 83 was Henrietta Bradshaw playing off a handicap of 13.

The Best Nett winner who lifted the Betty Harris Memorial Cup was Liz Rogers with a nett 71 and the Longest Drive Cup was won by Janet Hughes.

In the Silver Division Chris Pearce with a nett 75 took the honours from Su Calver (76) and Diana Gee (78).

Bronze Division One saw Ann Desmoulins take top spot with 75. Catherine Doherty (78) and Chris Luttman (8) finished second and third respectively.

Bronze Division Two saw Lin Wallwork take first place with 81. Sheila Palmer (82) and Susan Hyde (83) took the minor places.

The Nearest the pin prize in the Silver Division was won by Ann Davies whilst in the Bronze Division that honour went to lady captain Elizabeth Davies

The 9-hole stableford winner was June Hodge with 19 points.
