Honiton Town claimed a second successive South West Peninsula League Eastern Division away success with a 1-0 win at Galmpton and Roselands.
The Hippos, who had last been in action on December 9 when they won 5-1 at Sidmouth Town, were good value for the points in South Devon, banked thanks to a 79th minute Dan Broom header from a Ben Ede free-kick.
The game was one of only three in the Eastern Division to beat the weather on the first Saturday of 2018. The other matches saw Budleigh Salterton defeat Brixham 2-0 while Torridgeside and Newton Abbot Spurs dew 1-1.
The victory, a fifth of the league campaign for the Hippos, takes them above Galmpton and Roselands in the table.
Next up for Town is a Saturday, January 13, home game against Brixham.
