The Lyme outdoor bowls season ended with a ladies’ friendly being won 62-43 against Seaton, writes Paul Moffitt.
The men had their annual inter- league friendly, when all league playing Club members have a chance to pit their skills against one another. This is followed, as dusk descends, by supper, kindly prepared by the ladies who look after post-match hunger during the season.
League captains: Peter Eagles, Denis Perry and Richard Cridge all paid tribute to the ladies and various presents were presented to: Judith Moffitt, Maureen Gillett, Jan Parsons, Jill Wells,Yvonne Moody and Sue Wood. Thank you very much ladies, the time you give to this is very much appreciated.
Saturday saw the end-of-season fixture between the President's side and the Captain’s side. In the end it was the Captain's side which came out marginal winners. Again, a super spread was put on for 60 club members, all paid for by the president and captain.
he next official gathering will be on October 8 for the Annual Dinner and Presentation of trophies.
