Carnell wins Veteran’s Trophy Medal at Lyme Regis

It was the week of the Presidents’s Prize competition and for the men the best stableford score with 68 was Tim Daniel who, on count back beat Matt Watson and Adam Neale into second and third places respectively, writes Richard Jackman.

The best gross was won by Stuart Wight with 72.

The seniors competed for the Veteran’s Trophy medal was contested in tricky conditions.

Brian Carnell (68) and Peter Cogan (70) both broke par to finish first and second with Charlie Lane (71) hot on their heels in third.

On Thursday the ladies played a 3-ball bowmaker for President’s Day and it was tight at the top as Jenny Scott, Corinne Jones and Ursula Pratt came first with 74 points, shading Rosie Jackman, Roni Turner and Rosemary Blunt into second place on countback while on 72, Rhoda Elwick, Susan Moore and Glenys Phillips finished third.
