Carnival Cup success for Johnny Potter

The Axe Cliff Carnival Cup was won this year by Johnny Potter.
This is a competition that is open for entries throughout the week and Potter took first place with 38 points with Gerry Binmore having to settle for runner-up after he finished on 37 points.
There were three twos registered by Johnny Potter, Gerry Binmore and Neil Jones.
Next up was the playing of the September Medal and this produced a Division One victory for Anthony Hellier with his net 70.
Second place was claimed by Stuart Mackie with a net 71.
Johnny Potter kept up his good form with victory in Division Two with a score of net 66.
Steve Anning was second with 68.
There were no fewer than six twos , recorded by Johnny Potter, Steve Anning, Matt Donnan, Alan Morgan, Alex Todd and Mike Rymer.
The Axe Cliff ladies played the Macmillan Spoon and County Score.
First place was taken by Margaret Kenchington with Glenda Board second and Jo Donmall third.
Next up the ladies played Ace Cliff 5 and F Newbery 2.
Once again Margaret Kenchington was first with Helen Kenworthy in second place and Stella Thompson in third.
