There was a definite Autumnal feeling on Wednesday as Honiton ladies played their September Stableford, writes Andy Wagner.

However, there was no chill in the score for Mona Carter, this week’s winner of the Silver Division, who scored a very respectable 37 points.

In Bronze 1 Division Gill Johnson held her par and ended with 36 points while Elizabeth Davies and Sheila Palmer battled it out for second place, both on 34 points, the former winning on countback.

Steady player, Lesley Oxenham, was fourth with 33 points. Bronze 2 winner this week was Lin Wallwork who made another good score of 37 points, with Judith Newbery hard on her heels with 36 points. Pauline Ford was third with 33 points. In the 9-hole competition, Shirley Lewis came out on top with 13 points.
