Both Chard RFC matches were hit by the weather on the third Saturday of 2018, writes Glyn Hughes.

The 1st XV home game against Devonport Services and the 2nd XV game away at Winscombe, both fell to waterlogged pitches.

The game against Devonport Services has already been rescheduled and will now be played on Saturday, February 10 (2.30pm), and the new date for the 2nd XV visit to Winscombe will be Saturday, February 24 (2.30pm).

This coming Saturday (January 27), the Chard 1st XV travel to Cornwall for a meeting with Falmouth while the home action is a 2nd XV game against Somerton, a match that will be switched to the pitch at Crewkerne Road depending on the state of the main club pitch.

There is also an outing for the Chard 3rd XV, who are set to visit Wyvern for a Somerset Three South fixture.
