Chardstock bowlers brushed aside their recent disappointments with three good wins over the past week, writes Vaughan Fletcher.
A friendly with Merriott resulted in a 64-41 success with rink wins for P Waddington, E Van der Meulen, J Pratt and Adam Dredge, 16-12, V Fletcher, R Pratt, J Rolph and M Toms, 17-10 and B Howard, Ann Dredge, A Sebright and T Dredge, 14-10.
That was followed by a 77-51 win over Chard with wins for V Fletcher, J Pratt and J Rolph, 21-8, E Van der Meulen, S Hatcliffe and N Denslow 23-9 and Jeanette Porter, A Waddington and G Bodily, 21-17.
There was also an excellent result posted by the men’s Over-60s Triples League A team, who defeated promotion chasing Madeira 46-34 on their Exmouth green thanks to a 32-6 victory for the triple of K Wakelin, M Toms and N Denslow.
No such good fortune for the B team though, as they went down 45-35 away at Tiverton WE D despite an 18-15 success for J Keats, D Eldridge and W Kerr.
