Chardstock were well beaten at home by Culmstock.
The Mid Devon side batted first and powered their way to a close of 279-8. Jack Larcombe (3-63) led the bowling honours whilst both James Hayden and Martin Riley bagged a brace each.
Simon Garrett top scored in the reply with 34 and Nathan Copp chipped in with 18 but the final Chardstock wicket fell at 130.
Skipper Robbie Hatch said: “Its early days and I am sure things will settle down soon. We have players to come back in and that will strengthen us. We’ll be okay this term, of that I am sure.”
