A strong AVR representation ran at the well-organised and marshalled Mrs E’s Wheeze, a tough mainly off-road 10km run through lovely countryside starting and finishing at the primary school in Uplyme, writes Dave Mutter.
First home was AVR’s Chet Gillespie putting in a strong run to finish in 40:33, crossing the line nearly two minutes ahead of the second placed runner!
The next AVR, also the first lady and eighth overall, was Clare Hansford in 47:09 quickly followed by Karen Eyre, second lady and first V45 in 49:13, then Eleanor Wood to complete the AVR clean sweep, third lady and first V55 in 50:18. Andrew Hartnell finished in 56:42, just holding off Anders Larson in 57:01. Sandra Mortimer completed in 1:06:47 and John Mellodew 1:17:43.
Meanwhile, another AVR, Patrick Devine-Wright, won the latest Killerton Parkrun in 18:03.
