Christmas competition success for lady trio at Honiton

The format for the latest Honiton ladies Wednesday Christmas Competition was three-ball, better ball with two scores to count, writes Linda Knapman.

The sun shone and the prize table was expertly displayed yet again by our very talented Elizabeth Ward.

In first place were Catherine Doherty, lady captain Elizabeth Davies and Linda McLaughlin with 67 stableford points.

Second were Henrietta Bradshaw, Carol Cole and Chris Drew with 62 points. Third place went to Tricia Swindell, Liz Rogers and Pam Greenaway with 60 points, and fourth were Chris Pearce, Brenda Hyde and Celia Hamlett with 59 stableford points. Three prizes were awarded by Lucky Dip to Diana Gee, Lesley Oxenham and Linda Ranby.

The lady captain presented a cheque for £814 to Dr Charles Holme from the Balloons Charity which helps children and young people to cope with bereavement.
