After a setback against top of the table Porters Bar of Plymouth, Cloakham Daggers were keen to get back on track for promotion as they hosted Witheridge Warriors at Cloakham Lawn Sports Centre on Saturday.

Stuart Alner went on first and made a solid debut for the Daggers, winning 3-1 (19.30). Flynn Jones was next up and hit a 180 on his way to a good 3-2 win (21.34). Merv Wackley played next, but couldn’t find his usual fluency and went down 3-1 (19.78). Ed Coutts played fourth and won a hard fought game 3-2 (19.56). Alex Anning went on next and showed top form as he cruised to a 3-0 win (24.64). Dan Shakespeare then sealed the match win for Cloakham, coming back from the dead to win 3-2 (18.62). Vinnie Sweeney played next, but couldn’t find his form as he lost 3-0 (15.50). Team captain Mark Fisher went on next and showed his Devon County credentials with a dominant 3-0 win (26.84). Ron Millward played last and performed well against the top player from Witheridge only to lose 3-1 (20.66). Match result: Cloakham Daggers 6 Witheridge Warriors 3. The player of the match award went to Mark Fisher, sponsored by Sweet Heaven.
