Colyton 4, Lyme Regis 0 Colyton emerged victorious for a top-of-the-table Under-11 East Devon Youth League clash.
There was a high-tempo start to the contest with many of the players well known to each other.
Colyton took an early lead through Dan Huggins and then got a second from Jacob Hale. The third, scored before the break, was a classic goal. The move started deep in Colyton territory and, after a number of slick passes, Thomas Lambert applied the finish.
After the break Colyton made changes, but the rhythm of their play continued and they added a fourth goal with Marcus Symonds the scorer.
Colyton boss Craig Board said: βIt was a top drawer all-round performance and I am so proud that they were able to produce it when it mattered. To single any one person out would be an injustice to the rest, they played as a team, they take the credit as a team. After the break we created many chances, but the Lyme keeper is a talented player and he kept denied us time and again.β
