SENIORS' SECTION - 31 members took part in the November Medal. Conditions favoured the early starters as rain and gusty wind caught the later players in the last hour and a half.

So strong were the gusts that one of the younger Seniors -Malcolm Glass - chased over 500 yards from the 13th tee to the seventh green to retrieve the card of one of his (older) partners. In the final analysis the winner, with a nett 71, was Roger Hill (21), with Chris Walker (12) second with a 72. Four players netted 73s and third place on countback went to Don Lee (25) with Rob Grove (16), Brian Wilkes (13) and Paul Burgess (22) the players to miss out.

On Sunday the main club competed in Round One of the Winter League. Despite the windy conditions, the scoring was excellent. First place went to Brian Waller and Mike Cottam with 46 points. Second was Jamie Hughes and Simon Vincent with 45 points.

Third place went to Paul Clode and Steve Anning, also with 45 points, but with a poorer score on the back nine.

On Monday the Ladies' played against the Seniors in the Courtesy Cup. This took the form of a Matchplay Stableford. The Seniors' were the winners two and a half to one and a half. The winning pair for the ladies were Sandra Walker (14) and Barbara Cummings (26) with Glenda Board (18) and Pauline Standerwick (31) halving their match.
