Honiton 6, Dawlish 4

Honiton Hornets made a superb start to the second half of their season to fully deserve the points in a contest that was full of goals, writes Ann Reed.

The Hornets fell behind only to be level by the break thanks to goals from Lydia Cox and Becky Hammett.

During the interval the Hornets coach clearly said all the right things for the second half saw the team net four more times with Lydia Cox netting three more and Sophie George also getting on the score sheet.

Play throughout the match was very uneven and noisy, with much clattering of sticks and numerous lifted balls – it is to be hoped that this will not be the norm on-going.

League games resume on Saturday so ‘onwards and upwards’ is the motto now!
