Cranbrook runners embrace the Otterton Reindeer Run

Cranbrook was well represented at the Reindeer Run, which took place on the first Saturday of December.
Deborah Phillips, Mark Phillips, Griselda Shipp and Maggie Gellersjo were the four members of the Exeter College Running Club Cranbrook that were involved in the annual 10k race that took place around Otterton.
A last-minute change of route to avoid the flooded banks of the River Otter took the Reindeer Run around country lanes, muddy tracks, slippery fields and stunning coastal paths making the run varied and interesting.
The Cranbrook quartet ran as a team, starting and finishing the run together in just under one hour and 15 minutes.
After collecting their commemorative mugs, the team enjoyed the mulled wine and mince pies on offer in the village hall at Otterton for all race finishers.
● There was a good turnout from Exeter College Running Club Cranbrook at the 2019 Exeter Santa Run.
Deborah Phillips, Mark Phillips, Kelly Curran, Maggie Gellersjo, Kylie Fraser-Goodling and Libby Jackson were all running, while three others (Matt Rowett, Richard Trump and Phil Clark) were present at the event as marshalls. The 5k run through Exeter City centre took place on a surprising warm morning, especially given that runners were all dressed up in cosy Santa outfits. It all served up quite a remarkable sight for anyone out early enough to see the spectacle. Another wonderful team effort from the members of the newly affiliated club.
