Axminster suffered a third straight Tolchards Devon League B Division loss of the season, going down by five wickets to Braunton.

Brad Cross (35) and Dave Field (31) were the only batsmen to resist for long as the Axminster innings ended on 100.

Field then bagged two of the five wickets taken as Braunton eased their way home.

The 2nd XI also lost, but it was quite a day for Ben Fuzzard as he claimed a brace of wickets in the Braunton II offering of 228-5 and the struck a sublime century in the Axminster reply.

Such was the Fuzzard dominance of the post-tea session that he ended with 108 to his name and, with 15 extras, that meant his team, mates could only muster 36 between them.

On Saturday Axminster 1st XI got to table-topping Chudleigh and the 2nds host Chudleigh 2nds.
