Archant

Kilmington were well beaten in their home meeting with promotion chasing Shaldon.

Dave Cooke’s 45 was the only meaningful offering in a Kilmington total of 171.

Two early wickets gave Kilmington hope, but then the visitors took charge and sailed past the line without further loss to claim an eight wicket win.

Kilmington 2nds bagged a losing draw at Halberton and Sampford Peverell. Maurice Bevis (2-26) and Jake Collier (2-29) took wickets in the hosts 213-9.

Les Baker (49) and Charlie Potter (41) led the reply and it was left to last man Dave Lavender to face his one and only delivery, the final ball of the contest which he despatched to the boundary to see Kilmington close on 197-9.
