Uplyme and Lyme Regis remain in the E Division promotion race after they bagged their sixth win of the season, beating doomed Woodbury by nine wickets.

The visitors, yet to win this term, were 38-4 with Stave Batey bagging a brace and then limped all the way through their 46 overs to a close of 123-4.

Mark Batey then struck an unbeaten 58 and Rob Thom chipped in with 39 as Ashley Caddy’s side claimed victory on 124-1 with less than half of their 46 overs used.

Caddy said: “It was pretty dire stuff from them (Woodbury), I appreciate that, at 38-4 it became damage limitation but it was pretty boring fare for them to limp to 123 off 46 overs!

Uplyme are fifth but only twelve points short of second placed Upottery who they meet this Saturday in what looks to be a crucial promotion clash for both sides.

Uplyme and Lyme Regis II were beaten by six wickets at Axminster III who bowled them out for 119 and knocked them off with something to spare.

This weekend Uplyme II have no game.
