Uplyme and Lyme Regis have quietly made their way into the E Division promotion picture.

What’s more, their latest success, a five wicket win at Babbacombe, was completed without the presence of their formidable Caddy brothers, Ashley and Adam!

Steve Batey took advantage of the Caddy’s absence to star with ball and then bat. First Batey took 4-19 as he and John Toates (3-27) combined to hustle hosts Babbacombe out for 96.

Batey then top scored with 38 to lead the side to a five wicket win. With three to play, Uplyme sit third, eleven points behind Honiton.

Their final three games begin with this Saturday’s trip to Tiverton and Bickleigh after which they host Kentisbeare and then end the season with a trip to Kilmington.

Uplyme and Lyme Regis II were five wicket winners at home to Exmouth III who they have now swapped places with at the foot of the D Division East 2nd XI table.

Ali Rattenbury claimed 4-15 and Jack Lamb-Wilson bagged a brace as the visitors were bundled out for 95.

Dave Norman (32) and Oli Borgeat (32) then led the villagers to a five wicket success, their fifth of the season and they are now six points clear of the relegation berths.

This weekend Brian Rattenbury’s side entertain Countess Wear II.
