Feniton enjoyed a tremendous nine wicket win at Bridestowe where the star of the show was Norman Bedford.
The home side batted first and were always struggling against the bowling of Bedford, who finished with 5-33 in 12.4 overs, and Mark Kingdon (2-29 in 12), and the final wicket fell with the score on 136.
Bedford then hit an unbeaten 74 and Charlie Selley struck an unbeaten 42 as Feniton strolled home.
A delighted skipper, Mark Kingdon, said: “We were wondering on the trip up if we’d get a full game in but, as it happens, the conditions, thought testing, were more than good enough for a game of cricket and we produced a fine all-round effort. Norman (Bedford) was superb with both ball and bat and there were other excellent contributions.”
As to where his side sit now with seven of the eighteen games played, Kingdon says: “This win ought now to provide us with the platform to go on and make the season a special one. I see no reason why we can’t force our way into matters at the business end of the season. One thing we know at Acland Park is that we are a team who traditionally gathers momentum as the season unwinds, and this term need not be an exception. If we can replicate the all-round cricket we played at Bridestowe then I can see us going on a decent run from hereon in.”
