Local darts captain takes on former world champ
Billy Bloomfield, 42, of Whimple is coming back down to earth after beating former world darts champ Eric Bristow in an exhibition match at Feniton Social Club.
Billy, who is captain of the darts team at the Thirsty Farmer, was first on stage with Bristow and went on first leg of 601. He threw 100, 41, 60, 100, 100, 85 and finished with 62 left, Bristow needing 88. Bloomfield hit treble 10 and double 16.
He said: “ He was very nice about it. I enjoyed the evening and had a big grin on my face all night!
Bloomfield , who lives in the village, was sponsored by the Fountain Inn to take his place on the stage against Bristow.
