Both Uplyme and Lyme Regis sides were again forced to sit out a Saturday due to the weather.

Brian Rattenbury had a novel approach to explaining why the club’s 1st XI home game with Kilmington could not go ahead. He said: “We couldn’t start the outboard engine to get out to the middle to toss the coin!”

Rattenbury’s own 2nd XI side were denied action owing to a weather beaten wicket at Countess Wear II.

The team have played just two games since the final Saturday of May.

Rattenbury says: “It has been a woeful season with the weather and we have spent as much time off the square as on it!”

On Saturday the 1st XI who remain unbeaten all season long, travel to Topsham St James whilst the 2nd XI entertain Feniton II.
