Axminster III claimed an honourable winning draw from their visit to Countess Wear II.

Batting first, it was teenager Daniel Bicknell who top scored with 89 and Sam Dibling weighed in with an unbeaten 68, in a total of 253.

Adam Whitehouse, who, like Bicknell has only returned to playing cricket this summer after both previously featured for the Cloakham Lawns outfits under-15 side, claimed 5-50 as the Exeter side limped to a close of 226-9.

Next up for the team is Saturday’s long trip up to Barnstaple and Pilton II.
