Caddy cracks ton then Batey bashes Culmstock and Uplyme’s promotion bid continues.

PUBLISHED: 12:55 23 August 2011

Uplyme and Lyme Regis continued their late surge into the E Division promotion picture with a maximum points win at Tiverton and Bickleigh. Ashley Caddy struck an unbeaten century to lead his side to 249-7.

Steve Batey then took charge after tea claiming six wickets to finish with 6-20 as the Culmstock based side were bundled out for 66.

For Caddy and his side to bag a promotion place they simply have to continue their current form in their last two games at home to Kentisbeare this weekend and then at Kilmington on the final day.

They go into the last two, four behind Honiton and seven shy of leaders Filleigh.

There was no play possible at Uplyme and Lyme Regis II where Countess Wear II were the visitors.
