Chardstock were in fine form with the bat as they chalked up a score of 321-7 in their D Division East meeting with Countess Wear.

Gary Larcombe (88) and Tom Warren (77) were the principle scorers, and there were supporting knocks from skipper Rob Hutchings (34) wicketkeeper Steve Allsopp (31). Countess Wear were then bowled out for 109 in 33.3 overs.

They never recovered from being three down with just 19 runs on the board with Alex Watson claiming all three.

Watson finished with figures of 3-22 from seven overs and there were a brace of wickets for three players; Richard Pyman (2-18 from seven), James Pyman (2-38 from five) and Gary Larcombe (2-11 from 4.3).

On Saturday (June 9), Chardstock, who sit fourth in the D (East) Division, just six points behind third placed Upottery visit Glebe Park and so, at stumps, the winners of the game will occupy a top three promotion berth at the one-third stage of the Tolchards Devon Cricket League campaign.
