Year-10 Colyton Grammar School student, Billy Rudolph, has been selected to represent Devon to play cricket in South Africa, writes Isabella Brown.

The team is due to fly out for a two-and-a-half-week tour in February, spending the first week in the Kruger National Park and the rest of the trip in Cape Town. Billy, who lives in the village of Stockland, will play seven matches during the tour; one against a township side whose kit has been part-funded by the visiting side.

The team will also visit Table Mountain, Robben Island and go on a safari.

Billy said: “I am really looking forward to the cricketing challenges, and the opportunities I will get to see South Africa.”
