Honiton 1st XI suffered a 101 run win when they met Topsham St James in their latest Tolchards Devon League E Division East fixture.

Topsham St James batted first and were restricted to a total of 184-9 with two wickets each for Adam Holmes (2-29), Will Graham (2-20), and Andrew Lapping (2-46).

However, that total proved more than enough for the Tops to claim an emphatic win as they then promptly bundled out the Mountbatten Park men for a meagre 83.

Dave Haysom was the only Honiton batsmen to make any sort of impression as he scored 19 as Honiton suffered a first defeat of the season after winning their first two games.

On Saturday (May 19), Honiton entertain a Halberton and Sampford Peverell side that tops the fledging table having won all three of their matches so far picking up all but two of the 60 points on offer to date!

Honiton 2nds also had a day to forget on match day three of their new F Division (East) campaign as they were beaten by eight wickets at home to Seaton 2nds. Batting first, the Mountbatten Park men were bundled out for just 96 with the only batsmen to make any impression being John Hext, who scored 23. Seaton eased home, losing just two wickets on their way. On Saturday, Honiton 2nds visit Bradninch 2nds.
