All the headlines as the Tolchards Devon Cricket League kicked off.
Sidmouth (Premier Division)
Reigning champions Sidmouth begun their Premier Division title defence with a 31 run win away at Bovey Tracey.
Rory Thomas' 32 from 30 was the highlight of the batsman for the visitors before Will Murray and Max Hancock's three wickets a piece made short work of the Bovey Tracey batters.
Having won the toss, Sidmouth elected to bat and had to endure a spell of losing four wickets for a gain of only 30 runs as they finished on 141.
But Thomas efforts made sure they set a reasonable chase total which Bovey Tracey struggled to get close to.
After losing opener Abraham Kopparambil to a duck from just three balls, only three batsman managed to get scores in the double digits.
The home side ended on 109 all out, giving Sidmouth their opening win of the season.

Exmouth (Premier Division)
Exmouth welcomed North Devon to The Maer as they began their campaign hoping to improve on their mid table finish of last year.
They won the toss but despite the early wicket of Ed Yeo to the bowling of Sid Fereday, the team found it difficult to dislodge the resilient batsman.
North Devon's Dan Bowser and Ben Howe both scored half centuries as their side raced to 125-2.
Exmouth were set with a difficult target of 217 but James Horler and David Lye did their best to make progress.
Horler had reached 31 before falling while Lye's 131 not out was enough for Exmouth to clinch their first win by six wickets.
Exmouth 219-4 - North Devon 218-6
Seaton (B Division)
In the B Division, Seaton beat Bovey Tracey's second team by seven wickets.
The visitors, having won the toss, chose to bat and were facing a disaster when their opening five batsmen failed to reach double digits.
Freddie Eyston and Daniel Green proceeded to make the score more respectable with 28 and 38 respectively and Seaton were set a score of 135 to win.
Ben Libby took three wickets.
Joel Seward was the pick of the batsmen for Seaton with his 54 not out while Stephen Pritchard and Ben Morgan also played well.
The visitors reached the target with wickets to spare.

The Otters won the toss and sent the visitors out to bat.

Josh Clements and Harsha Sinnappu Liyanage were in sharp bowling form, picking up three wickets each.
Ottery opener Oliver West produced a strong display but came agonisingly close to his half century, falling on 48 to lbw.
The rest of the order helped guide the Otters to 127-7 meaning they won by three wickets.
