Kilmington 2nds had only eight players, but that was still sufficient to land a seven wicket win over visiting Exeter Civil Service II.

Michael Micklethwait (2-41), Dave Lavender (2-44) and skipper Ash Cook (2-54) took wickets as the Exeter side were restricted to 192-8.

Cook then top scored with an unbeaten 37 whilst Martin Huscroft was also there when the win was confirmed with 27 to his name and Roland Stonex set the run chase up with a knock of 35.

Cook said: “We played very well given we were three players lighter than them. It just shows what a group of players can do if they are all pulling together. We bowled, fielded and batted very well.”

On Saturday Cook takes his team to Cheriton and Fitzpaine II.
