Feniton were involved in a close contest with Shaldon that ended with the South Devon side wining by just two wickets.

Feniton batted first on a damp Acland Park wicket and, with seven wickets down and just 77 runs on the board, an early finish looked a very real prospect!

However, Alex Frankpitt had other ideas and, from the number six lost, he scored a terrific 64 to help Feniton up to a respectable 180. Number ten bat Francis Pyle was unbeaten on 21 at the close and Graham Tucker served up the ‘best of the rest’ with a knock of 22.

The home bowlers then got stuck into the Shaldon batting with Matt Davies taking three wickets for 34 runs and Adam Ramcharran claiming three wickets for 43 runs, but bat won over ball with Shaldon getting home with two wickets to spare.

Feniton 2nds enjoyed a big win at Thorverton thirds. Then Mid Devon side batted first and were promptly bowled out for just 73 with Fran Perryman the star of the show, taking six wickets for just 14 runs! Stuart Bright was in action at the other end and he took three wickets for 21 runs.

Sean Devine hit an unbeaten 42 to see Feniton to an eight wicket win.

On Saturday the first eleven face the daunting prospect of trying to be the first team to stop runway table-toppers Ottery St Mary. The 2nds have home advantage for a meeting with Halberton and Sampford Peverell. The Mid Devon side sit second in the table behind Feniton who start the game 13 points better off.
