Axminster II bowler Dave Gadsen produced a sensational burst to drag his side from the jaws of defeat to a thrilling victory.

Opponents Shobrooke Park II were cruising to victory at 185-5.

However, with just one thick edge or lusty blow required for victory Gadsden bowled a hat-trick, taking three wickets for one run to leave the reply on 186-8.

Sean Perry then sent down a wicket maiden and, with the first ball of his next over, Gadsden took the last wicket to give his side an extraordinary two run victory!

Earlier John Swain (69) and James Whetlor (35) had provided the major contributions in an Axminster total of 188.

Gadsen finished with figures of 5-28 in a game that will last long in the memory of those who played in it and witnessed it!
