Honiton, despite an impressive debut from Brian Cann with ball and bat, went down by 13-runs at home to Cullompton.

The Mid Devon side batted first and were bowled out for 180 with Brian Cann (3-18) and Neil Pulman (3-40) taking the bulk of the wickets.

Cann, making his first appearnace for Honiton for many moons, then top scored with 46 and got good support from two previous Mountbatten park skippers, Kev Kelly hitting 38 and Pete Maltravers scoring 33.

However, wickets fell along the way with the final one going down on 167 to consign Honiton to defeat.

On Saturday Honiton travel to Halberton and Sampford Peverell who sit seventh in the C Division (East) table, three places and six points worse off than the Mount batten Park men.
