Hutchings to skipper Chardstock into a new cricket season

Chairman Edward Eames presided over a well attended meeting and said it was good to see the younger players in attendance plus several stalwarts who are returning to the club, writes Frank Hudddy.

He felt that the terrible summer weather had ruined last season for many clubs and everyone hopes for a decent summer this time around.

Richard Parris reported that the club was still financially sound, but said that more members were needed for the 100 club and anyone wishing to join could contact him on 01460 220609.

He also thanked the chairman and his son, Fred, for their help last season on various off-field projects.

Club captain Robbie Hutchings echoed the chairman’s report regarding last season’s weather with many games ruined and hopes for better luck on the playing side this season.

The executive committee was re-elected en bloc.

The club Jumble Sale and Auction, the biggest in the area, will be on Friday, March 22 at 7pm in the village hall.
