FORMER Honiton Cricket Club 1st XI skipper Andrew Lapping has been appointed to captain the Mountbatten Park side's 2nd XI next season. The appointment was confirmed at the club's recent AGM and Lapping, who took over the reins of the 2nd XI towards the end of last season, is delighted to be charged with the responsibility of hopefully overseeing an instant return to the division they were relegated out of a couple of months ago.Neil Pulman was voted in as the new vice chairman and Teresa Lapping was appointed secretary. Kim Slater will be chairperson for another year, Nick Hartnoll continues in the role of club treasurer and the 1st XI will once again be led by Pete Matravers. One position that does remain open is that of club welfare officer and that is something they hope to resolve shortly.
