Honiton Under-15s went down by 21 runs in their opening game of the season against Ottery St Mary.

Early wickets from Hamish Culling (2-18) reduced Ottery to 43-3 with Billy Reed’s 19 the main Otters offering at that stage.

Two late wickets from Charlie Wright (2-1) was answered by a late flurry from Rudolph (28) and a big hitting unbeaten 49 from Dan Pyle, that saw Ottery to a close of 126-4.

The home sides reply reached 22 in no time before wickets started to fall at regular intervals.

However, Keiran Murphy (33) stayed at the crease to keep Honiton in the game, but, when he fell with the score on 80-7, the game swung back towards the Otters.

A late flurry of runs from Corey Lapping (13) and Ben Kidson (18no) took Honiton to a close of 105-8.
