New sponsors for area youth cricket

With the start of the 2008 season just around the corner, the ever successful East Devon District youth representative teams have had a major boost with two sponsors supporting the organisation who run the teams - EDACC.
With the start of the 2008 season just around the corner, the ever successful East Devon District youth representative teams have had a major boost with two sponsors supporting the organisation who run the teams - EDACC.Island Sports, the Devon based sports clothing and equipment company, and building contractors Elliott Build Ltd are both supporting the teams which range from under-9s to under-15s.Chairman of the coaches' association, Steve Loud said: "It's fantastic that two local companies have come on board to support youth cricket in East Devon. The money will be used to develop coaches in the district and purchase coaching equipment. The result will be a better quality of coaching across East Devon for all levels of players."East Devon teams will be playing all across the county this season, and also various age groups are booked to go on tour as far afield as Jersey, Wales, Dorset and Surrey during the summer."Island Sports are supplying the kit for East Devon teams this year, which James Hope of Island thinks will also help their performance . He said: "In my experience, whilst playing at Warwickshire, how the team look when they train and play matches helps team spirit. "As one of the coaches, I will certainly be looking for some good performances this year, especially when we tour the Channel Islands."Based in Exeter and working throughout the south west on a number of interesting and varied projects, Elliott Build Ltd site manager, Gary Hensberg said whilst presenting the cheque: "Its good to be working with the local community and supporting the youngsters in this way."Steve Loud added: "We are always looking for promising young coaches who can work with the district and also local clubs.
