Ottery St Mary continue to seemingly do their best to avoid promotion – it is now one win in eight after they were beaten by six wickets at Plymouth Civil Service and Roborough.
The Otters have only beaten E Division bound Bridestowe since a June 18, 52 run win, at Ipplepen – that remains the only defeat to date this term for the newly crowned D Division champions.
However, the Otters do still have a 15 point cushion over third placed Feniton.
Batting first at the Buckfastleigh home of the hosts, the Otters were bundled out for 118, passed with relative ease for the loss of just four wickets.
Next up is Saturday’s visit of Ipplepen and that is followed by a home meeting with Whimple and a last day visit to Whitchurch.
Ottery St Mary II were able to celebrate promotion from the C Division 2nd XI on Saturday night after they beat visiting Plymouth Civil Service and Roborough by 78 runs.
Steve Forbes hit an unbeaten 53 and Gavin Iley chipped in with 31 as the Otters made 170-9. Joe Birch (3-23) and Zac Johns (2-20) then combined to bowl the visitors out for just 92.
