Axminster II action v Shobrooke Park

Axminster 2nds strolled to their ninth win in eleven D Division east matches with a dominant display that saw them thump hosts Countess Wear II by nine wickets.

Skipper Sean Perry led by supreme example as he first claimed four wickets and then stroked his way to a glorious unbeaten big century to push his side ever nearer a place in the 2nd XI C Division next season.

Perry (4-30) and the previous weeks bowling hero Dave Gadsden (3-24) combined to bowl the hosts out for 205.

That was not enough to worry Perry who then thumped an unbeaten 141 as he and Dan Fuzzard (43no) saw their side comfortably over the winning line.

Axminster II hold a 19-point lead over Kilmington and Uplyme & Lyme Regis who share second spot.

It’s an East Devon derby this Saturday with a trip to Seaton for Perry and his men.
